Foresight Group has sold East of England fleet maintenance provider Plantexpand to Premius Capital, generating a return of more than 3x on its invested capital.
The deal marks the regional private equity manager’s fifth exit in 2026, following recent sales of FIS Chemicals, TES Group, Fieldway and Beckett Investment Management Group.
Founded in 1987, Plantexpand provides outsourced vehicle maintenance, statutory compliance and asset management services to operators across the utilities, telecommunications, transport and public sectors.
During Foresight’s investment, Plantexpand expanded its nationwide footprint and increased its staff headcount by more than 300%. Foresight also oversaw senior leadership hires, appointing board chair Tod Harrison, chief executive David Harris and chief financial officer Dan Dickinson.
Tod Harrison, non-executive chair of Plantexpand, said: “Foresight has been a supportive and constructive partner throughout our growth journey. Their backing has enabled us to invest in the business, strengthen our platform and continue delivering exceptional service to our customers. We are proud of what we have achieved together and are excited to begin the next stage of our journey with Premius Capital.”
David Miles, managing director of Foresight Group, added: “Plantexpand has developed into a highly attractive, technology-enabled business serving critical infrastructure customers across the UK. We are proud to have partnered with the team and supported the business through a period of strong growth, whilst helping to keep the UK’s infrastructure operational and creating high-quality jobs.
“We are delighted to have delivered a return of over 3x for our investors and we thank the management team for their hard work and wish them every success with Premius Capital.”
Greg Mackin, co-founder of Premius Capital, concluded: “We have been hugely impressed by what the Plantexpand team has built – a customer-centric, technology-led business that has become the partner of choice for some of the UK’s most critical infrastructure operators. The growth delivered over the last five years, from headcount to revenue to the continued development of the PAMS platform, is a testament to the quality and dedication of the organisation.
“We are delighted to be partnering with them as they enter this exciting new chapter, and we look forward to supporting Plantexpand’s continued national expansion and the next stage of its growth story.”
