Bridgepoint acquires majority stake in insurance tech firm VIPR Solutions

Small-cap fund backs London platform to drive global expansion and software development

Private equity firm Bridgepoint has completed a majority investment in insurance technology platform VIPR Solutions.

The transaction was executed through Bridgepoint Growth, the firm’s small-cap fund, which has become the majority shareholder in the business. Growth equity investor Tenzing will fully exit its stake as part of the deal, while VIPR chief executive Paul Templar and the wider management team will reinvest alongside Bridgepoint.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in London, VIPR provides software that processes program business data for the insurance market. The platform processes approximately 500,000 bordereaux files annually, representing around $12bn (£9.1bn) of gross written premium across its client base.

The investment will fund VIPR’s platform development, expansion of artificial intelligence capabilities, and international growth. Financial terms of the transaction, which completed in July 2026, were not disclosed.

Advisors on the transaction included Houlihan Lokey, Ashurst Perkins, Stephenson Harwood, Oliver Wyman, Interpath, EY, JCL Debt Advisory and Shawbrook for Bridgepoint. VIPR and Tenzing were advised by Continuum Advisory Partners, Simmons and Simmons, KPMG, Strategy and, Ringstone and Riplo.

Paul Templar, chief executive of VIPR, said: “This investment marks the next phase of VIPR’s growth. We have built the leading platform for Delegated Authority intelligence, deeply integrated into the daily operations of many of the world’s leading insurance businesses.

“The market is moving quickly. Insurers need better data, faster decisions and technology that delivers real operational outcomes — not black-box promises. VIPR combines insurance-native expertise, market-leading technology and AI-enabled capabilities to help customers run their portfolios with greater speed, control and intelligence.

“Bridgepoint brings the scale, experience and international reach to help us move faster. Together, we will accelerate investment in our platform, expand our AI capabilities, grow internationally and continue to strengthen VIPR’s position at the forefront of insurance technology. With Bridgepoint as our new partner, we are ready to accelerate the next phase of VIPR’s growth, strengthening and extending our leadership across the global re/insurance market.”

Mayank Kanga, partner at Bridgepoint, said: “VIPR has built a differentiated and defensible position at the centre of a large, structurally growing and under-penetrated market. The company combines deep insurance domain expertise, mission-critical technology and an embedded role in its customers’ workflows. We’re delighted to partner with Paul and the team as they extend this impressive leadership position and expand internationally.”
