Private equity firm Perwyn has invested in Bachelet Group, a metal testing and inspection business with operations across Europe, Latin America, North America and Africa.
Felipe Olaechea, chief executive of Bachelet Group, will remain majority shareholder following the deal. The investment will fund organic expansion and targeted acquisitions.
Founded in Liege, Belgium, over a century ago, Bachelet Group provides testing and inspection services to businesses operating across the metals and mining sector. The business has since expanded its operations internationally and developed its services beyond metal testing into adjacent areas.
Perwyn said it intends to support Bachelet’s long-term growth strategy, with plans to expand the business through organic growth and targeted acquisitions while maintaining its customer-focused approach.
Felipe Olaechea, chief executive of Bachelet, said: “We are pleased to welcome Perwyn as a strategic investor in Bachelet. This partnership is strong validation of the excellent work delivered by the entire Bachelet team. We are confident Perwyn will help accelerate our organic growth and support the exciting mergers and acquisitions opportunities we have been pursuing. This choice of partner allows us to maintain our operational independence while allowing us to better address our customers’ needs in a rapidly evolving world.”
John Gallagher, a partner at Perwyn, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to invest in Bachelet alongside its management team. The group’s performance in recent years has been phenomenal – the customer-centric culture embedded across the organisation has been and will continue to be a core pillar in Bachelet’s success.
Over the past century, the business has grown from its origins in Liege, Belgium, to an operational footprint across Europe, LATAM, North America and Africa, expanding beyond testing into other adjacent services.”
