The boards of the Maven Income and Growth Venture Capital Trusts have launched new share offers for the 2026/27 tax year, seeking to raise an initial £20m with an option to use over-allotment facilities for a further £20m.
Investors can apply to one or more of the four trusts through a single application. Proceeds will provide additional capital to support new and follow-on investments in UK growth companies across sectors including software and technology, AI and data, healthcare and specialist engineering.
The fundraising follows statutory changes to venture capital trust rules introduced in April 2026, which increased the amount trusts can invest in qualifying companies in a move Maven said gives managers greater flexibility to support scaling businesses.
The four trusts hold stakes in more than 125 private and AIM-quoted companies in aggregate. Portfolio realisations since September 2023 include 14 profitable private company exits, which Maven said returned up to 8.2 times cost. Over the three years to September 2026, the four trusts paid out £62m in aggregate dividends, with each trust targeting an annual dividend equivalent to 6% of net asset value per share, according to the manager.
Applications received with cleared funds by 5 February 2027 qualify for an early investment incentive, which offers a 1.5% fee discount for existing shareholders in any Maven-managed trust and 1.25% for new investors. Maven has launched venture capital trust offers annually since 2009, and said it has raised £390m from UK investors to date.
