Maven Capital Partners has opened an office in Reigate to support SME investment across the South East.
The expansion follows the firm’s appointment last month as equity finance manager for the £210m South East Investment Fund, which is backed by the British Business Bank. The regional office adds to the firm’s existing presence in Reading.
As part of the expansion, Maven’s investment team has also appointed Cait Pilkington as investment associate, alongside investment managers Jonathan Day and Alex Lawrence-Berkeley.
Pilkington previously worked in early-stage syndication and investor relations, while Day brings a background in corporate law and healthcare operations. Lawrence-Berkeley has spent 10 years working with early-stage companies across the energy, telecommunications, defence, robotics and AI sectors.
Luke Matthews, partner at Maven, said: “Opening an office in Reigate gives us a great base from which to develop deeper relationships across the South East. We are committed to being accessible across the region, and this additional presence, alongside our Reading office, is an exciting opportunity to build on our established network of advisers, universities, and ecosystem stakeholders.
“The addition of Alex, Cait and Jonathan to the existing team brings valuable experience and further enhances our investment capability on the ground. Together, the team is well positioned to support businesses right across the region through the South East Investment Fund and Maven’s wider investment activity.”
