Coniston Capital has secured more than £50m in commitments at the second closing of its second investment vehicle, Coniston Capital II LP.
The private equity firm expects to reach final closing by the end of 2026. The vehicle backs UK SMEs through management buyouts and buy and build strategies, targeting businesses across the domestic market.
Since its first closing, the fund has completed an investment in international theatre, acoustics and experience consultancy Charcoalblue. The firm said it will make a second investment from the vehicle shortly.
Amit Hindocha, managing partner, said: "We are delighted to have reached over £50m at our second closing. We are grateful to our existing LPs for their continued support and pleased to welcome new investors to the fund.
"Their commitment reflects the conviction that we share in our investment thesis and we look forward to backing more ambitious management teams."
Stephen Grabiner, non-executive chairman, added: "This second close is a significant milestone for Coniston. With Fund II already 30% larger than Fund I it recognises both the track record that Amit and the team are developing and investor support for the well-known funding gap in the UK private equity market for smaller businesses."
