AAB appoints office of the CFO partner in London

Chris Guy brings experience with private equity-backed businesses and more than a decade as a chief financial officer

Professional services firm AAB has appointed Chris Guy as an office of the chief financial officer partner in London, as the firm continues to expand its presence in the capital.

AAB said Guy had more than 15 years’ experience with high-growth and private equity-backed businesses, including more than a decade as a chief financial officer. His experience spans property, construction, hospitality and other consumer-focused sectors.

AAB said Guy would support clients with management accounts, board reporting and financial planning and analysis, as well as strategic decision-making. The firm said his experience in private equity-backed businesses would also support its work with clients during transactions and periods of growth.

AAB’s office of the chief financial officer team provides operational and strategic finance support to founder-led, private equity-backed and listed businesses. Its services include financial reporting, strategic planning and support during transactions including acquisitions, fundraising and market listings.

Lauren McCluskey, head of the office of the chief financial officer at AAB, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Chris to the team. He brings real depth of operational finance knowledge, along with first-hand experience of exits and transactions, which makes him a fantastic addition as we grow our presence in London.

“Private equity is a core focus for the Office of the CFO, and Chris’s experience and knowledge working in fast-paced, investor-backed businesses means he understands exactly what our clients need as they scale.”

Guy said: “I’m delighted to be joining AAB as the firm continues to grow. The Office of the CFO team is already doing great work supporting clients’ in-house finance teams as they scale, and I’m excited to build on that success, helping clients see finance as an engine for growth, particularly in high-growth, private equity-backed businesses. I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to clients here in London.”

The appointment comes as AAB continues to expand following investment from Goldman Sachs Alternatives and a programme of strategic acquisitions and senior hires. The firm now employs more than 1,800 people and generates more than £200m in revenue.
