Tokenisation infrastructure provider Ctrl Alt has announced today (23 September) that Amanda Staveley, the founder and CEO of PCP Capital Partners, has joined its board of directors and will act as a strategic advisor to the company.
News of her appointment follows a period of sustained growth for Ctrl Alt, as tokenised assets have more than tripled to $1.8bn (£1.35bn) over the last 12 months, with headcount doubling over the same period.
As one of the UK’s prominent dealmakers and founder of a private equity and advisory group, Staveley has led a number of landmark transactions, including the £3.25bn recapitalisation of Barclays in 2008, which allowed the bank to raise private capital rather than accept a government bail-out.
She has also advised on the acquisition of Manchester City F.C. in 2008 and Newcastle United in 2021, where Staveley served as a director until 2024.
According to Ctrl Alt, it has appointed Staveley for her experience in the UK and Middle Eastern markets, where she raised capital and closed transactions for major financial institutions and sovereign investors.
Ctrl Alt operates regulated entities across the UK, EU and GCS, holding licenses and authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
Staveley said: “I’ve spent my career closing deals where access to capital was the binding constraint. Tokenisation is the first real structural fix to that problem, and Ctrl Alt has done the hard part first – building the regulated infrastructure that institutions and governments actually need before scaling the market around it.
“I’ve watched this team turn a genuinely difficult, multi-jurisdictional regulatory challenge into a working product, in the UK, UAE and beyond. I’m looking forward to helping this extraordinary team take Ctrl Alt to the next exciting stage.”
Matt Ong, founder and chief executive of Ctrl Alt, added: “From our first conversations with Amanda, it was clear we shared the same conviction about how this technology can fundamentally change the way we transact in alternative assets. The opportunity is enormous, but access to these assets still runs on infrastructure built for a different era and our mission is to change that.
“Few people know the UK and Middle Eastern markets as deeply as Amanda does, from how capital moves in each to what it takes to close complex transactions. We’re proud to have her on the board and looking forward to building together.”
